Mushroom Identification Walk, Talk and Tasting. A day of mushroom hunting on the beautiful Oregon coast capped by a mushroom tasting in which we will cook up a dozen or so different kinds of wild mushrooms.. Saturday Nov. 12: Mushroom Class in Gualala, California
A mushroom walk and tasting in southern Mendocino County near the town of Gualala, 11 am-4 pm. $60 per person, pre-registration a must. To register, contact David Arora at this site.
Friday Nov. 25-Sunday Nov. 27: Thanksgiving Weekend Mendocino Mushroom Extravaganza
Join David Arora and special guests for a fun(gus)-filled weekend of mushroom hunting, feasting, lectures, discussion and mushroom identification. The event starts at noon Friday with guided mushroom hunts followed by dinner and evening lecture/discussions. Saturday there are more mushroom hunts, a mushroom tasting, and lectures, and then Sunday morning there is an identification workshop covering the various mushrooms that we gather. Beginners are welcome but experienced mushroom hunters will also find plenty to interest them. Special guests will be announced once they are confirmed. This event is held at a biological field station in Albion, on the spectacular Mendocino coast. Accommodations are in simple cabins with their own private baths, mostly 2-3 people per cabin.
