Friday November 27 through Sunday Nov. 29:  Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Mushroom Foray & Class in Mendocino County, California.

Join David Arora and special guests for a weekend of mushroom hunting, feasting, lectures, and mushroom identification.  Beginners are welcome but experienced mushroom hunters will also find plenty to interest them.  The event commences on Friday at noon with guided mushroom hunts followed by cooking demos and evening lectures or discussions.  Saturday there are more mushroom hunts, feasting and discussions, and then Sunday there is an identification workshop covering the various mushrooms that we gather.  The site is a biological field station in Albion, on the Mendocino coast.  The accommodations have been drastically upgraded so that each cabin now has its own private bath; unfortunately, the prices have been raised as well.   Chefs Jill Milton and Brig Weiler will once again come down from Canada to do the cooking, and William Rubel, an internationally recognized authority on western cuisine, will return this year as well (go to williamrubel.com to learn more about him).  Cost for the weekend is $250 per person including accommodation, breakfasts, and dinners.  If you don't need lodging then the cost is $175.  People are advised to register soon as this event usually fills up.  For more information, send an e-mail to maxfun@cruzio.com or contact David Arora at this website.
